The Flin Flon Bombers and Yorkton Terriers split a pair of games this past weekend in what turned out to be two pretty entertaining hockey games.

 

Friday,  Donavan Houle was up to his usual tricks picking up a pair of goals and an assist in leading his team to their 13th win of the year, winning 6 to 2. Houle now has 18 goals which is second overall.

 

Cole Rafuse also had a good night, adding a goal and two assists with the other Bomber markers coming from Brandon Cianflone and new comer Troy Quinn with a pair.

 

Kyle Jessiman was back between the pipes making 26 saves in his second start and looked good, particularly handling the puck.

 

Carson Henry and Jordan Mis had the Yorkton goals.

 

Saturday, Yorkton came out and played a better game picking up the 4 to 1 victory.

 

The Bombers hit the board first when Cole Rafuse picked up a loose puck in front of the Terrier net to dispose of his 14th of the season.

 

That is all the offense the Maroon and White could muster as Ryan Ouelette shut the door the rest of the way.

 

Ouelette was fantastik, stopping 47 out of 48 Flin Flon shots and was the game's first star. Ouelette is 5-0 since coming back from the WHL and his numbers are staggering with a gaa of 1.66 and sv % of .960.

 

He is the real deal and Yorkton is a lot different with him in their line up.

 

Yorkton got their offense from Chantz Petruic and Ryan Ries who both had two goals each.

 

Petruic now leads the league with 23 goals  and 46 points in just 23 games.

 

Flin Flon will fall to 13-5-3 on the season and remain two points behind Melfort for first in the Sherwood Division with two games in hand.

 

Yorton improves to 12-10-1 and are starting to run away with the Viterra Division with an 8 point lead over second place Weyburn.

 

The Bomber home stand will continue with two more  games this Thursday against Humboldt and Friday against Notre Dame.

 

We will not be broadcasting these games and arn't back on the air till Friday November the 22nd in Nipawin.
