On October 30th, as the result of an ongoing investigation, Lynn Lake RCMP along with assistance from Leaf Rapids RCMP, and Manitoba RCMP North District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST) executed a search warrant at a residence on Sherritt Avenue.
Once inside the home, officers seized approximately $20,000 in Canadian currency and approximately three ounces of cocaine.
The initial investigation determined the male homeowner of the residence, who was known to police, had departed approximately 30 minutes earlier headed for Thompson, but the vehicle was intercepted on highway 391 near Nelson House.
A traffic stop was initiated and the suspect, a 58-year-old male, was arrested and faces multiple charges including possession for the pupose of trafficking.
The male was later released on an appearance notice.
Lynn Lake RCMP and CREST continue to investigate.
