Team White 3 Team Maroon 0

Flin Flon Bomber Main Camp wrapped up this afternoon with the annual Maroon and White game.

There was a very good turn out to watch Team White knock off Team Maroon by a score of 3 to 0.

local product and returning for his second season Ryder Mucha led the way for Team White with a pair of goals including his first of the game just 18 seconds in.

Mucha was also able to bang home his second of the afternoon  early in the third period when he capitalized on a nice pass from new comer Nate Lalumiere.

The other Team White goal was scored by 20 year old Reid Arberry when he converted a pass from Flin Flon's own Joey Lies to round out the scoring.

With no returning goalies for this season, we saw 5 rookies dress for the big game today with Leam Furey and Matt Bradley splitting the duties for Maroon. They combined for 12 saves on 15 shots.

Team White went with three tenders including Jaxson Ford, Wyatt Nelson and John Blanchette and all three played well turning aside 26 shots.

There were only two minor penalties in the entire game.

Head Coach and GM Mike Reagan summed up Main Camp with these comments after the game this afternoon. " Camp was good, it was competitive, I thought the three teams competed hard and made camp intense and interesting for us. The Maroon and White game didn't disappoint and I though there were a lot of chances for Maroon but they couldn't capitalize and the goalies played well."

Reagan said they weren't sure what they were going to do for numbers with the amount of injuries in camp but was excited that Keaton Lesperance and Hudson Brehaut were both coming back from WHL camps and will be in the lineup tomorrow night against the MJHL'S Northern Manitoba Blizzard.

So the Bombers jump right into the pre season with their first of 7 games and first of three against their MJHL rivals. It will be an all rookie affair with puck drop at the Whitney Forum at 7:30.

These two teams will meet again in The Pas on Friday September the 5th at 7pm at the Roy H Johnston Arena. That game will be broadcast on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com.

Flin Flon Bombers Announce Main Camp Schedule

The Flin Flon Bombers have announced their schedule for Main Camp which will start on Friday.

They are expecting between 50 and 60 player's in camp this weekend.

Head Coach and GM of the Bombers Mike Reagan is looking forward to camp and trying to find some new faces to fill a lot of spots with a number of players moving on. " We are excited about the challenge as every year you lose some good players and with Lepper and Senft going out to BC, that leaves a void in our lineup. In saying that,  we made some moves through out the summer to try to fill some of those holes and it is a great opportunity for some of those young guys we bet on last year to step up and lead our team. We are excited about it, new season, new team and a new challenge."

The Bombers feel their biggest strength heading into the season will be their back end with 5 returning defensemen.

It Is An Ace

After a slow start to the local golf season due to the wildfires, the Phantom Lake Golf Course looks spectacular and people have been hitting the links in droves.

One of the highlights so far this season includes the first hole in one of the summer.

Congratulations to Shawn Fraser who got an ace yesterday  afternoon on hole number 6.

This is Shawn's second hole in one as he got his first one  over 20 years ago. He was playing with Mark Koop and once again congratulations from the entire Phantom Lake Golf Club.
